    About this course

    Whether you are a musician who wants to learn woodworking techniques, a woodworker who would like to learn the elements necessary to create stringed musical instruments, or just someone looking for a fun weekend, this is the class for you!  Renowned woodworker, Beth Ireland, will guide you through the safe use of tools including the bandsaw, router, drill press, and stationary sanders, before learning to shape with hand tools, lay out scale lengths, fret, students will string and strum the dulcimer guitar they create.  

    Open to all skill levels.

    About the Location

    Located inside a 100 year old Art Deco building  in the Old Southeast section of St. Petersburg, the studio is less than a mile south of the vibrant downtown St. Petersburg district. Salt Creek Arts Studio overlooks beautiful Tampa Bay with incredible views and space to wander. The Downtown St. Pete district is home to art galleries, and restaurants to explore during your free time. And nightlife adventures to fill every second of your evenings.

    About the Instructor

    Beth Ireland lives and works in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Her studio creates woodworking with a specialization in architectural and artistic woodturning. She earned her undergraduate degree from the State University College at Buffalo and an MFA in Sculpture from the Massachusetts College of Art. Her teaching repertoire includes workshops at prestigious arts and crafts schools across the country, including a three-month Professional Woodturning Intensive at The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship.
